Compare real All-on-4 prices in the United States ($25,000-$50,000 USD) vs Medellín, Colombia ($12,000-$16,000 USD). Same brands, same protocols, up to 65% savings. 2025 guide for international patients.

All-on-4 in the USA is out of control. In Medellín, it costs up to 65% less. Same brands, same protocols.

If you've researched All-on-4 prices in the United States, you've likely received quotes ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 USD per arch. Full-mouth rehabilitation (4 upper + 4 lower implants with zirconia prosthesis) in the US: $70,000–$90,000 USD. For many patients, this transforms a medically necessary solution into an unattainable luxury.

Meanwhile, in my practice in El Poblado, Medellín, I treat patients every month from the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Panama and Spain who receive exactly the same treatment — same implant brands, same surgical protocols, same 3D digital planning — for $12,000–$16,000 USD per arch.

USA vs Medellín price comparison (2025)

  • Standard All-on-4 (4 titanium implants + reinforced acrylic): USA $25,000–$35,000 · Medellín $12,000–$14,000
  • Premium All-on-4 (4 titanium implants + monolithic zirconia): USA $35,000–$50,000 · Medellín $14,000–$16,000
  • All-on-6 (6 implants for greater load distribution): USA $40,000–$60,000 · Medellín $14,000–$18,000
  • Zygomatic implants (severe bone atrophy): USA $50,000–$80,000 · Medellín $16,000–$20,000
  • Full mouth (both arches, 4 upper + 4 lower implants + zirconia prosthesis): USA $70,000–$90,000 · Medellín $24,000–$28,000

Why does it cost so much less in Colombia? (It's not about quality)

The price difference comes from three transparent, verifiable factors:

  1. Lower country operating costs: staff salaries, office rent, administrative overhead, professional insurance, taxes and utilities are a fraction of US costs. This translates directly into the final price, not into clinical quality.
  2. Legal and insurance system: US malpractice insurance for implantologists can exceed $25,000–$60,000 annually. That cost is passed on to every treatment. Colombia's professional insurance environment costs a fraction of this.
  3. Compensation model: many large US clinics operate under corporate models where a significant portion of pricing covers mass marketing, franchises, and corporate margins. In Medellín, specialists work predominantly in private practice without corporate intermediaries.

What does NOT explain the difference: it's NOT cheaper materials, lower-quality implants, or shortened protocols. Clinical quality is equivalent — and in many cases superior — due to the volume of cases a Colombian implantologist places per year compared to an average US practitioner.

Same brands. Same protocols. Same evidence.

The most common question from international patients: "Do you use the same implants as in my country?" Short answer: yes, exactly the same.

  • Straumann (Switzerland): the global gold standard in implantology. Over 60 years of clinical evidence, present in more than 100 countries. If you return to the USA with a Straumann implant, any implantologist worldwide can service it with locally available components.
  • Neodent (Switzerland/Brazil, owned by Straumann Group): premium system with the same manufacturing quality as Straumann, widely used in USA, Europe, and Latin America.
  • DioImplant (South Korea): implant system with strong international presence, FDA, CE and KFDA certifications.

What's actually included in the Medellín price

  • Initial diagnostic consultation with comprehensive clinical evaluation
  • High-resolution 3D CBCT scan
  • Digital planning and virtual case analysis
  • All necessary extractions on surgery day
  • 4 implants of the agreed brand (Straumann, Neodent, or DioImplant)
  • Surgery under conscious sedation with anesthesiologist present
  • Same-day fixed temporary prosthesis (you leave the office with teeth)
  • All postoperative follow-ups during osseointegration
  • Final prosthesis (monolithic zirconia or reinforced acrylic, per chosen plan)
  • Manufacturer warranty on implants and prosthesis

Compare this list with the "base price" many US clinics quote: often the initial price covers only surgery and implants, while final prosthesis, follow-ups, sedation, CBCT, and warranty are charged separately.

Your real travel plan: what All-on-4 looks like for an international patient

Phase 0 — Virtual consultation (no travel needed)

Before any travel, we hold a free virtual consultation via WhatsApp or Zoom. You request a CBCT scan in your city and send it digitally. With that study, I design a preliminary treatment plan and a detailed written quote.

Trip 1 — Surgery and temporary prosthesis (5–7 days in Medellín)

  • Day 1: arrival, final clinical evaluation, plan adjustments if needed.
  • Day 2: surgery day. Under conscious sedation: extractions, placement of 4 implants, and same-day fixed temporary prosthesis.
  • Days 3–5: rest, postoperative follow-ups, comfort tracking, minor adjustments.
  • Day 6–7: discharge to return home with your fixed temporary prosthesis. You leave with functional teeth and immediate aesthetics.

Osseointegration period (4–6 months in your country)

Bone fuses with implants during this time. You live normally with the temporary prosthesis. We stay in touch via WhatsApp for any questions.

Trip 2 — Final prosthesis (4–5 days in Medellín)

  • Precision digital impressions over fully integrated implants.
  • Aesthetic and functional try-ins of the final prosthesis.
  • Installation of the definitive zirconia or reinforced acrylic prosthesis.
  • Long-term maintenance instructions.

Total time in Colombia: approximately 10–12 days across two trips over 5–7 months. Many patients use the trips to explore Medellín, Cartagena, or Colombia's Coffee Region.

Is it safe to get All-on-4 in Colombia?

The question is completely valid. The objective data:

  • Specialist training: my training includes Dentistry at U. El Bosque, Specialization in Oral Rehabilitation at U. CES (international accreditation), Implantology at FACOP, and Esthetic Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry. Most certified Colombian implantologists have equivalent training paths — many with postgraduate work in the USA, Europe, or Brazil.
  • Technology: the equipment I use (CBCT scanner, intraoral scanner, digital planning) is exactly the same as that used in any advanced US or European clinic.
  • Materials and traceability: every implant has its own serial number and manufacturer certificate. If you ever return to the USA and need service, any implantologist can continue your treatment with locally available components.
  • Warranty: Straumann and Neodent implants come with worldwide manufacturer warranty.
  • Medellín as a city: El Poblado is one of the safest, most modern districts in Colombia. International-standard hospitals (Clínica El Rosario, Clínica Las Vegas) are less than 10 minutes from the office.

Frequently asked questions

Do you speak English?

Yes. I treat patients in Spanish and English, and my administrative team is fluent in English. All clinical documentation can be provided in both languages.

What if I have a complication after returning home?

Serious All-on-4 complications are rare (less than 2% of cases). For any eventuality, we maintain direct communication via WhatsApp and, if needed, coordinate with an implantologist in your city — Straumann and Neodent implants can be serviced by any certified specialist worldwide.

How long does All-on-4 last?

With proper maintenance (6–12 month follow-ups and good hygiene), Straumann implants have a 10-year survival rate above 95%. Monolithic zirconia prosthesis has an expected lifespan of 15–20 years or more.

Do I need a visa to come to Colombia?

USA, Canada, EU, Mexico, and most Latin American citizens do not require a visa for tourist stays of less than 90 days. Treatment is performed under medical tourism status without additional paperwork.

How is payment handled?

I accept international wire transfers (USD), credit cards, and for local patients, payment in Colombian pesos. Some airlines and international medical financing providers offer payment plans.

The next step

If you're considering All-on-4 and want an honest evaluation of your case — including whether you're truly a candidate, what result to expect, and exactly how much it would cost — the first step is a free virtual consultation. You only need to send me a recent CBCT scan and book 30 minutes via WhatsApp or Zoom.

I don't sell treatments for the sake of selling. If your case requires a different solution (conventional implants, zygomatic implants, or even no intervention), I'll tell you with the same clarity. My commitment is to you, not to closing a sale.
